Blogging and remodeling
I’m happy my computer works with all the dust and debris around here. Every contractor we spoke to looked at us wincingly - like we smelled bad - when we answered “Yes, we’re going to live here while we remodel.” I couldn’t fathom the filth, dust mites, and squalor that lay ahead of us at the time - but now - as I step over the rubble that covers the upstairs hallway and stairs to get to the thermostat and adjust the heater higher to compensate for the fact that four of our rooms have no walls - I’m beginning to see the light. Adding a three year old to the picture isn’t pretty. He could fall to his death if we weren’t paying attention or walk away. He loves picking up the tools, “I’m working” he’ll tell us as he hammers into fresh dry wall. And what little boy could resist the many ladders we have all around the house, or the nails. We thought we’d be done in Nov and now hope that by Xmas - we’ll have the exterior doors and door knobs installed. Currently anyone could walk into our house - I’m suprised we haven’t been slain in our sleep. My oldest son remarked that our house is like a convertible car - becuase it has no top - I’m sure I’ll laugh about that later when it’s all done - I hope sometime before the New Year.
